Rogue One Torch Simple Shell to fit a torch inside.

I have had a few request about the Rouge One torch and after some discussion with interested parties here is the design.

I have made a few modifications for ease of installment. Bellow is a picture of the actual helmets in storage you can see the torch is held in place by wire, So I have replicated the system to attach to the shield.

Below is the wire set up that you can use to install your torch to your helmet shield. Note this is a different torch set up. You will need 1-1.2mm wire to slide inside the 2 holes of the torch to secure it to the helmet shield.

Type of torch that will fit inside the print any torch that has diameter of 15mm and a maximum lenght of 98mm, here is a link to the torch in the picture.

Finished torch on the Rebel Helmet.

The torch shell will be available at shapeways and my minifactory page (there are 2 torch designs there).

The Force Unleashed II - Renders

Designed in Fusion 360 with the intention of one day machining them and building the internals. I used the reference material from various sources to design them. Below is the video trailer for TFU2.

Here are two of the lightsabers from the force unleashed, Rahm Kota with crystal reveal and Starkiller. both are a work in progress but close enough to share.

Work continues on the Obi Wan chassis. . . .

Obi Wan Kenobi Lightsaber - Lower chassis design

Small update almost finished work on the lower chassis, I would like to see how its working once printed before I add a few atheistic details.

I have moved the recharge port to the lower chassis and made it a 1.3mm instead of a 2.1. Speaker housing should fit nicely.

Obi Wan Kenobi Lightsaber - Internal chassis Printed

Now that the chassis is printed I'm pretty pleased with the print. There are a few details I will need to change, and now that I have discussed some of the design features with a friend I will tweak them also.

The back channel of the print allows for wiring

The battery clips in nicely to the print and holds it well, just need to tweak the alignment.

The spark 2 fits, some modification for ease of wiring is needed.

I will need to drill out part of the grenade section to allow for the the charge port under the rear hole in the clamp section, I might change to a smaller recharge port also.

Already on to the upgrades . . . .

Obi Wan Kenobi Lightsaber - Internal chassis

Progress continues on the Obi Wan Kenobi lightsaber.
I have finished the design of the 3d printed part to hold the battery, Spark 2, and recharge port.  This part will connect to the first post about the Obi Wan lightsaber which will hold the crystal chamber. I'm looking forward to seeing it printed out.

The green battery is an 18650 and the red card is the Spark 2 which controls all the LED's for the blade and accents for the chamber, and the sound when you move the saber.
The hole in the above picture is for the 2.1mm recharge port.

This part will connect to the above to make the crystal chamber and hold the speaker.

Obi Wan Kenobi Lightsaber - clamp activation

After watching a few specific parts of the movie again, Obi Wan activates his Lightsaber by pushing down on the clamp top (bubble strip). I have found some small switches that will fit inside the clamp and have designed a switch holder that will fit inside the clamp. Because there are quite a few sabers with graflex clamps I should be able to reuse the same part on multiple builds (Luke v2, V3 and a Graflex saber).

There are similar switch housings available but I figured I would make my own because the switches I brought are slightly different and hey if you can make your own why not!

Obi Wan Kenobi Lightsaber

This is the Lightsaber of Obi wan Kenobi from A New Hope.

And this is a recent all metal reproduction of the the Lightsaber made for an electronics install.

I have started work mapping out where to put the electronics and have ensured I have enough space for a small crystal chamber. Its still a work in progress but felt it was far enough a long to share.

I plan on it being a 3d printed two part metal chamber with a 3d printed chassis to hold all the electronics and chamber together.
